Uses GPS & Network both for location discovery

The Trackzio app uses GPS and network both for detecting user location. A reliable location detection is very important in calculating the proximity and notification services in the app, that is why Trackzio uses both the technologies and do not rely on anyone alone.

The person who is being followed and the person who is following others – both needs accurate location detection in order to manage & notify others. If a person reaches at a particular location, the brilliant discovery service records the location with the time and thus, helps the follower to track promptly.

Trackzio is a great combination of Location based services and geo fencing. It is relatively a new social media platform that allows people to engage with each other. It gives the real-time location of friends/team/family members who decide to share their location with others.

Geo fencing is like creating a virtual perimeter within the specified range of a particular location, sowhenever a person enters the digital boundary, his/her follower receives a mobile alert. Mobile alerts are triggered only when the person who is being followed arrives within the specified range of a particular location.

Smartphones are wonderful tech devices. Not only do we use them for calling, texting and e-mail, but they have increasingly become our go-to cameras, music players, handheld gaming devices, and a mobile lifeline to everything from our bank accounts to the latest news and weather. And because of their ability to be recognized and tracked by location services, smartphones have become highly reliable navigational aids, replacing many stand-alone GPS devices.Over the last couple of years, this ability to precisely locate smartphones through GPS systems and cellular and Wi-Fi networks has led to a mushrooming of location-based apps, those small downloadable programs that use a smartphone user’s whereabouts to provide additional information and services. However, despite the usefulness of navigational apps or restaurant-finding services such as UrbanSpoon and Yelp, location-based apps can present a few areas of concern for smartphone owners. The first issue to think about is privacy.

By definition, location-based apps work by tracking your location. This is perfectly acceptable when you are actively seeking directions or looking for somewhere to have lunch, but perhaps not quite as welcome when you are relaxing at home or visiting your child’s school. The second item to consider is the ability of some app providers and their partners to build a profile of your mobile use for advertising purposes. Although the tracking of smartphone use for targeted marketing is in its infancy, the ultimate goal is to include mobile use alongside desktop activity in terms of understanding a user’s interests and buying preferences. Utilizing location-based apps and responding to local ads can add considerable detail to that user profile. The final item to think about with location-based apps is battery drain. Even when they are not in use, many location-based apps are constantly updating GPS information or searching for Wi-Fi access points to more precisely pinpoint the phone’s whereabouts. While less worrisome than the privacy concerns mentioned above, this constant drain on your smartphone’s battery is no less irritating. One way around these location-based matters is to use your smartphone’s settings to turn off location services when you don’t need them. Most smartphones have a dedicated location feature in the Settings menu, which will allow you to turn off network location services, as well as third-party services for built-in or downloaded apps.Another way is to delete or uninstall the location-based apps that you don’t use. Again, most smartphone operating systems will allow you to do this through the Settings option. Click on Applications and you will see a list of all the apps you have downloaded. Clicking on each individual app will tell you what permissions you have given, including the ability to track your location. While there’s no shortage of location-based apps that can offer many major benefits to smartphone owners and their families, it’s important to think about just how and when you use them to maximum benefit and enjoyment all while protecting your privacy.

What  is GPS Navigation ?

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based navigation system that determines your current location through GPS signals. The GPS navigation system devices find use in several applications in the fields of military, marine, aviation, tracking, and surveillance.

The GPS navigation system is made up of a network of 24 satellites placed in orbit by the U.S. Department of Defense. It provides reliable location and time information at any position on or near the Earth’s surface, at any time, under all weather conditions. It is maintained by the Federal Government. Anyone with a GPS receiver can access the information for free.

Alex, the son of Mrs. D'souza went to hang out with his friends. Suddenly it starts raining heavily. Mrs. D'souza is really worried about her son but she has no way to track her son's location.

Ms. Jolly, 'XXX' company assigned task to her P.A to meet one of her business partner at 'Y' location. Her P.A claims to have reached the location but actually he was enjoying a date with her girl friend. There is no way for Ms. Jolly to track her P.A rather than to trust him.

Mrs. Arora always reminds her husband to collect her saree from dry cleaners while he returns from office. Even she calls frequently just to remind him but still he forgets everytime though he passes the same location several times in a day. There is no way for Mrs. Arora to remind her husband to collect her saree when he reaches that particular location or somewhere near to it.

Everybody would have faced one or more of the above situations in real life. The question is can technology solve this ??
